We are pleased to formally introduce you to our newest team members, Judy Derock and Katie Iversen. They both joined our team this May 2021. Please read on to learn more about each of them. Our client services team also includes Sammi Manuel, who has been with us for the past two years. We have included her biography and contact details below.
Katie is well-experienced in both Administration and Customer Service. She has a passion for the financial services industry and cultivating relationships with clients. She is currently assisting Stephen’s clients.
Katie joined our team in May 2021 and is currently working on her Business Administration Diploma, majoring in Finance through NAIT. Previous to joining our firm, she worked as the Branch Administrator for a Truck leasing company for 7 years.
Outside of the office, Katie loves to cook, go to drift racing events, take road trips with her Fiance and their son, do calligraphy, and spend time with family and friends.

Judy’s passion lies in Finance and community, with a background of more than seven years in banking. She started in accounting and operations, and eventually moved into an investment-related role. She is now building her knowledge in finance and client administration through her new role as client services for John’s clients.
Judy has earned her Bachelor of Commerce Degree as well as an Associate’s in Business Management. She joined our firm in May 2021 and is currently working towards her Canadian Securities Course (CSC®).
In her spare time, Judy loves to travel, hike, and go for bike rides with her friends and family.

Sammi is an experienced administrator who has found her passion in the financial services industry. She is currently assisting Kelley’s clients as well as taking care of insurance administration for all the firm’s clients.
Sammi has her Diploma in Legal Administration and previously worked at another financial planning firm in Kelowna. After relocating to Edmonton, Sammi joined our team in August 2019.
Outside of the office, Sammi loves to fill her time travelling, snowboarding, and spending time with her family and friends.

We are honoured to announce this May 2021 marks Blackburn Davis Financial’s 20th Anniversary.
Thank you sincerely to our clients for the support and trust you have placed in us over these many years. It is an honour to provide financial guidance to our clients and we are grateful for the chance to do so every day. We have enjoyed the privilege of sharing many important moments in our clients’ lives and we look forward to the opportunity to continue to do so.
Under normal circumstances, we would have much preferred to celebrate this occasion with our clients by hosting an in-person event. In lieu of this, we have chosen to donate our event budget to charity. We have estimated a budget of $10,000 and have selected six charitable organizations across Canada. These include YESS – Youth Empowerment and Support Services, The United Way of Canada, The Canadian Mental Health Association, Special Olympics Canada, Women’s Shelters Canada, and The Edmonton Food Bank

It is with heartfelt congratulations that we welcome Kelley Doerksen, CFP®, CIM® as partner in Blackburn Davis Financial Inc.
Kelley has been a Financial Advisor for 13 years. She achieved her Certified Financial Planner designation in 2010 and her Chartered Investment Manager designation in 2017.
She has just qualified to be registered as a Portfolio Manager which allows her to manage client assets on a discretionary basis. This is the gold standard of financial advice in Canada. She is also currently working on her Trust and Estate Practitioner designation (TEP).
Obviously, self-development and education are a cornerstone to Kelley’s success. What is more remarkable is she has been able to accomplish these milestones while being a dedicated mother and outstanding Advisor.
She is a thoughtful, empathetic, and highly skilled planner who acts as our go to resource for many of the more technical financial planning issues we face. Congratulations Kelley and thank you for your dedication and service.

We are very excited to announce Annick Belanger’s return from maternity leave. Effective immediately, she is resuming her role as client services for John’s clients and as the main contact in our office for all insurance inquiries. She is looking forward to seeing all of our clients again.

You may have noticed we have adopted a new look. Some changes in Securities Regulations have made it necessary for us to hold ourselves out differently when discussing investment related activity as opposed to financial planning and insurance. As such, we have registered the names Blackburn Davis Wealth for investments and maintain Blackburn Davis Financial for our insurance and financial planning activity.
Because of this change we decided after almost 15 years, it was also time for a refreshed logo and brand. This new look has come with a new website and videos. We encourage you to browse our new website and would love to hear your feedback.
